Hello everybody.
I found this Site through google and hope you can help me. Sorry for my bad english, im from europe
I bought a broken RX1 with the failure message e:61:00
Before i buy it, i used google and it seems that a lot of people get this message.
Everybody fix it by hitting the cam. In my case it doesnt help.
I hit it a lot of time but the message is still there.
Sometimes when i hit the LCD the message is going away, but still no fokus possible, after turnin off and on the message comes back.
i made a video, perhaps you can take a look and say me what im doing wrong?
Hope you can help me

Yes, that is exactly the problem I was talking about. This fixed mine perfectly without hitting or dropping the cameraThis seems to be a common problem with the RX1 so this may be of interest to others. Here is my post from a previous thread, as noted by other responses to your post. Let us know how this works. The problem has never returned on my camera.
I think I have fixed it. I wasn't game to try the dropping technique but I found that the E61 message occurs on a number of cybershot models. One person (on a different model) said he fixed his by keeping the camera cap on and holding the camera firmly, but not heavily)with the lens cap/lens against a table top facing down and keeping it like that while the camera turned on and initialized. I figured I couldn't do any harm trying this and Bingo. There was a slightly odd, but not alarming whirring and a very small vibration in the lens mechanism. The camera is now working perfectly. I am much relieved.
