I think you should still check out a RX100 MIII at a photo counter or something just so you can have the experience of saying you explored your options and, satisfy any curiosity you had in that camera. It's certainly a very good camera too, but I find camera choices are personal and what may be good for one isn't good for all necessarily.

That said the G16 is a fine camera that does more than it ought to be able too ;).
