Re: learning why you pick these settings ...
I was watching some you tube videos of this model's options.....and one person said when learning to stay in AV mode and just keep taking pics and practicing... when I first took this pic it was too dark and people were a little out of focus so I know the higher F number has more depth and more focus of everything in the shot so I used F11.....(I read F9 is usually a good average # for depth)....then I tried 800 iso, pic was still too dark and then just kept going up higher and higher .....
feedback welcome

the group shots always seem to be too dark or too blurry
what do you think of these shots?

shutter speed: 1/50s
aperture: f/10
ISO: 3200
do you know why you picked any of these settings? since you say you used Av mode, you selected f/10 ... why f/10 and not say f/4 or f/16?
and then you selected (or allowed your camera to select) ISO 3200 ... why not ISO 400 or 800?
do you know what changing the shutter speed (faster or slower) will do to this photo?

shutter speed: 1/30s
aperture: f/3.5
ISO: 200
it's obvious that this picture does not have a well-exposed subject ... why choose ISO 200? why choose f/3.5? did you use Av mode with this photo?
i don't mean to be hostile with these questions at all ... i'm just trying to get you to think about the settings you choose instead of just picking what seems like random settings and asking random people what's wrong with the photos ...
rather than spend time on a forum, please spend 15-20 minutes changing one setting at a time to figure out what they do ... it would save everyone a lot of grief ...
- what does changing aperture do to your photos
- what does changing ISO do to your photos
- what does changing shutter speed do to your photos
please take the time to do that ...
