hello everybody

as in title

I was asking about pm2 and finally buy it !!! loool cool camera

anyway I am looking for good zoom lens and i want low price

so I find pany 45-200mm and oly 40-150mm

no compare size an weight ( for sure the pany bigger and heavy )

I am asking about 3 things (IQ - focus - sharpness )

I like the extra reach of the pany (200mm vs 150 mm on oly ) but

I read so many thread

some say / the pany is get soft 150 to 200 and oly is better

and some see the pany is sharp and the oly get soft at 150mm and the extra 50mm is worth on pany

I am really confused !!??? as i told you I like the extra + 50mm for the pany to get extra recah

but I am afraid the lens is not good in 200mm or even in 150mm

or get the oly and safe $ + lightweight + compact size

So my big question / which one is better ?? I want the lens for birds -moon and other far subject ) ??

any advice ??

thanks in advance for help

Maybe neither. How serious are you about birding? I have the 40-150mm Olympus and it's a good lens. I can't comment on the Panasonic because I know very little about it. I ended up buying the Olympus 75-300mm for birds. Birds are small. The 150mm length was too short for me and I suspect the 200mm Panasonic would have been also. Since I got the 75-300 I rarely use the 40-150. The problem is the Olympus 75-300 is twice the price of the Panasonic. I also have the EPM2 and it very usable on that body. I don't find any issues with the handling. So if you are very serious about birding then get the Olympus 75-300 and pay the extra. It's worth it. I paid $150 dollars for my 40-150 and it sits unused.  Did I mention that birds are small.
