Re: Small Gem Kit lens for M 4/3 (Loose Mount?)

Went back to the dealer for a fourth time today to look at new stock and went through the whole thing again with another sales assistant.

The mounts on the new stock have similar movement (possible to slide a sheet of paper in between the lens and the camera).

Illustration of loose mount. Supplier's invoice on 80gm A4 paper slipped in the gap between the GX7 camera body and the 14-42mm kit lens

The assistant tried another (non kit) lens and it was rock solid; he then asked me if I thought it would make much difference!

So I took a refund. Pity.

I will look out for a body-only option and possibly an alternative lens (although of course the separately sold Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 II ASPH Mega OIS I believe has a metal mount so may be OK). I can't currently afford the 14-140mm zoom (Panasonic Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm F4-5.8 OIS)
