Re: NX30 problem, advice requested

I purchased an NX30 last Spring/early Summer and shortly after setting it up, it malfunctioned. The camera would play back photos on the card but declined to take any new images. The screen was dark like the lens cap was still on the camera. I received a replacement from the vendor and it worked well until yesterday when a similar problem occurred. The screen displays information which seems to indicate that the lens cap is still in place, e.g. shutter speed time is 30 plus seconds. The screen displays data but no image in capture mode. Any thoughts on cause or cure?
I'm on vacation right now and don't have the warranty information. What is the standard warranty?
Do you use only one SD card of the same type/manufacturer? I had similar issue with NX30 and lexar card NX20 used it without issues).
