Flicker detector is somewhat of an obscure feature, it is only useful if you shoot sporting events, I doubt it is needed on an entry level DSLR. Wifi is basically a must at this point.

I have to respectfully disagree, and I think this would be a strong feature for a big part of the target market of rebels, if Canon can market it in a way that they will understand.

Bottom line, why do a lot of parents still buy DSLRS? For taking pictures of their kids at school events & sports

What ruins a ton of indoor sport and event photos? Ballast light cycle flicker.

If canon correctly markets it as a fool proof way to avoid obnoxious dim /yellow / green pictures of your kid scoring a basket or receiving their middle school diploma, it would be a really good selling point for that market.

That is a really good point, I have not thought of this. I believe 7d2 is only camera with anti-flicker feature, and that feature seemed to be specifically marketed to pro or semi-pro shooters.  I do agree it is a great feature which many would appreciate. Still, I'd be surprised to see it in an entry level DLSR.
