Very impressive.

My fears before buying this camera-

It will lack contrast because of the complex lens

The zoom will be fuzzy at the long end

High ISO will be poor due to the small sensor

The slow lens will make it useless indoors

After a few quick tests upon receiving the unit, I am happy to conclude that none of these things are true.   No, it won't match my D800 with the respective lenses, but for a constant-carry along camera that keeps one from missing good photo-ops, it is hard to beat.  My FZ150 was nearly as good, but I believe this beats it just slightly in image quality and menu simplicity.

My only small niggle is where Canon placed the review button.  It should be right above the 4-way controller on the back, so it can be reached without straining the hand so far. Otherwise it is ergonomically OK.  And I haven't even touched RAW yet!
