hi folks

as you see in the title

last night I was tired after long trip

and I put my camera in bag

then I waked up and ,,,,,, found the camera switched on !!! whaat !!!

I realized that I am not switched off last night ,,,,,,,, it's has been switched on for about 18 hours !!!!!!!!!

Sorry but I am really worry now and Afraid !!!

is this normal ?dose this damage my T3i? if some of you has did this before ?? dose this affect in his camera (T2i or t3 or t3i t4i ..... etc
 
I don't believe it will damage the camera. I've accidentally left my cameras on. So far I've had no problems.

If you are not having trouble with it, I won't worry any longer. It probably is OK.
 
Unless you changed the settings it turns itself off after xx minutes when you turned ut back on was the batteru dead? If not then it auto shut off.
 
Sometime I turn it off , sometimes I forget and it turns off automatically I have done this for years with no problems.

I've left my cameras on between shoots before - sometimes a week or more. Don't worry at all, it's not a problem.

It uses less than half a watt when idle. The battery is 7.2 Volts *1.12 Amp-hours = 8.064 Watt-hours. You had it on for 18 hours, what was the battery level like before you went to bed, vs. when you woke up? Consuming 0.4 Watts/hour wont completely drain the battery in that time.

*Ok I see your battery is still full, and auto off enabled. I should read all the thread before replying...it was clearly in standby mode.

OK My last question in this thread ....

in my case forgot camera 1 day (ON) dose this will anyways affect in the IQ ???

I haven't touched the power switch on my 60D for over two years. Battery swaps, card swaps, lens swaps - all done without switching off. No problem.

I generally agree, but there is one problem... if you never turn off you won't get automatic sensor cleaning, so I'd recommend regular use of (middle wrench) "Sensor cleaning | Clean now".
