Were you able to get a refund or do an exchange? It is always disappointing when one buys something that doesn't meet expectations, but if you can get all your money back and move onto something you like better than in the end it all works out.

I borrowed it, the lens is better at close quarters but when shooting at distance (such as compressing landscapes etc) not impressive whereas the Panny 14-140-II remains constant across the frame, the Panny Mk2 is better for colour, a lot better for contrast and bokeh also   ..... I actually found the old Panasonic 14-140 to be better than the Oly too for the long end at long range ..

You have certainly had a string of bad luck trying to find a superzoom for landscapes at infinity. The Olympus was not sharp enough at infinity for you and the Panasonic has loose elements that makes everything unsharp when you get shutter shake. That just leaves the Tamron to try.
