I read from somewhere that the color from GX7 tends to be cooler and AWB can be customized to be warmer, but what else?

Aside from the AWB correction, you can try the "Vivid" picture style. It's under Menu->Rec->Picture Style menu.

You can dial the "Vivid" style back a touch by lowering contrast and saturation a step or two. If you get a combination that you like, save it in C1 or C2, so that if you need to adjust contrast and saturation for other modes you can return to it easily.

Thanks I'll give it a try!

As with all Panasonic m43 cameras you can also save your tweaks to the picture styles to make your own "custom" styles. In that way you don't use up your Custom mode dial settings.

Can you save to new styles in-camera, or do you need to use their included software?

Sorry, I missed your question. I just tried it on my GX7 and it is actually less flexible than I thought - you can only save one custom Picture Style at a time, e.g. Custom Vivid or Custom Standard, etc. It does give you one extra style in addition to the factory styles (tweaked or not). Other cameras, e.g. the GH2, give you 2 memory slots for this.
