What EXACTLY makes bokeh good or bad? Examples please

Please describe and post examples of good and bad bokeh. I'm posting in this forum because it has members with high-end lenses and advanced knowledge.

Recently there was a thread in which the OP posted bird pics for CC. Responders said the bokeh, "hurt their eyes". That's a subjective statement. Since they didn't describe what hurt their eyes, it made me curious.

I'm looking for specifics, not, "I feel it in my gut." "You can just tell". "I know it when I see it." statements.

Here's an example of what I'm looking for, Good bokeh has out of focus highlights (such as traffic lights or Christmas lights) appearing perfectly round, not oval.

Would you guys/gals with a bokeh-master lens and an 'eye-hurting-bokeh' lens of similar focal length post examples? Examples will be most useful if taken at the same time with the same body on a tripod, same f-stop, subject, lighting etc.

Thanks in advance.
