Hi
Can anyone advise what raw programmes I might be able to edit nx mini files in that would correct for distortions etc and also have a profile for reproducing the same colours as in their jpegs?
Thanks

Samsung's web site indicate Lightroom 5 is included in the box:

'Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, iLauncher'

LR enables RAW PP and Lens Distortion adjustments, ans all the Color adjustments you could want.

All included in the cost of the Mini.

Thanks. Does that automatically enable me to process images like the jpegs or do I have to download a profile from somewhere?
Thanks

Why not shoot Raw+jpeg rather than trying to mimic the jpegs?

Darktable uses the Lensfun library for lens correction, they have some of the NX lenses in there, namely the 16mm, 16-50mm PZ, 18-55mm, 20-50mm, 20mm, 30mm, and 45mm. They also have a few of the Samyangs, including the popular 14mm. Also, if you're willing to take the photos for it, there is someone that volunteers and will add the profiles to lensfun if you send him the needed photos. They have a base curve for Samsung, but I wouldn't say that it gets the colours exactly like the jpegs, it's not really meant to.

Why on earth is it so complicated just to get the same colours in raw files?!

I don't understand why manufacturers can't just add profiles for their raw files..

Because color matching is a (insert bad word here that DPreview doesn't allow).

Because it's part of their jpeg engine I suppose, and they're paranoid of the competition stealing it. That's just a shot in the dark, no idea why they don't. Also, it is complicated by the many settings users can change in the jpeg processing that will effect the color rendering. When I process from the raw though, I'm looking to get better colors as suits my taste rather than the same. Maybe that's just me though.
