E-M5 II longer, but on wrong end

The E-M5 II also seems a bit longer than the E-M5 and E-M10 so that is a negative for me.

Someone has created an overlay image of the E-M5 II and E-M5:

It shows that the E-M5 II is longer than the E-M5. Sadly, the extra length is all on the left end (looking from the back), i.e., the mode dial end. If the length, or at least part of it, had been on the other end (the shutter release end) then it would have been a pretty major improvement to the ergonomics. The shutter release end of the camera (right end) is very cramped up because of the small camera size, all the controls, and the EVF. Especially for people who use their left eye (like me) there is very little room for the right thumb to make use of the rear dial, buttons, etc. while the camera is up to the eye. If you wear eyeglasses it can be even worse. I wrote about this when the E-M5 first came out:

A missed opportunity to make a major improvement to the ergonomics and relieve some of the cramped space on the right end of the camera. It is longer on the left end to make space for the LCD hinge.
