Re: Today's G10 Image- Using multi layer raw processing

Carl,

A good while back, I compared the G9 to the G10 and found the resolution is very close, with just a tad more contrast in the G9.  At the time, I put that down to the G9 having the better lens, offsetting the G10's higher pixel count.  That was at base ISO; but at ISO 400, the G9 resolved more, although with more shadow noise.

I wasn't crazy about the G11 & G12; but I'm quite happy with the G15.  My biggest gripe with the G9 (and the G7), was the badly designed OVF.  The axis of the OVF crossed that of the lens at 5-6 feet!!!  So no parallax at 5'; but a huge amount at 100 yds.  My first outdoor shots with my new G7 were from the deck of a cruise ship in Ft. Lauderdale.  The shot was of a draw bridge over the Inter-Coastal waterway.  It was open at the time, and all that showed in the review was the tips of the raised bridge decks.  A shot of a liner going out showed just the top of the funnel.  I was just sick.  I eventually learned to compensate and had the G7 for almost four years.  The G9 had the exact same issues with the OVF.  That was fixed in the G10 and all later G's.
