I was researching to buy a light combo for doing portraits and I enjoyed using GM1 with Olympus 45mm but I know the bokeh of Sony 50mm is better. The question now is when compared to Oly 75mm, which has more bokeh between these two cameras:

Any M43 camera with Olympus 75mm F1.8

versus

Any Emount APSC with Sony 50mm F1.8

Take APSC with 50/1.8, this will make it 75mm equivalent, which if framed well will in the majority of cases look better than 150mm (75/1.8) equivalent.

On what grounds would it look better?

Wider always looks better. You have to get closer to your subject, which is not always an option for candid photography, but the reward is always worth a try.

On the contrary, for facial portraiture, wider is worse due to perspective distortion. The classical portrait range starts at 85 mm EFL, and that's still on the shortish side, the main advantage of 85 over somewhat longer FLs not being the perspective but the fact that it can get the framing right even in pretty close quarters.

The 135 is as far as I would go with it for people, and only because DC gives a certain kind of bokeh.

Any lens gives a certain bokeh.

Comparing it to 150 (on FF), I take 135 any time.

Which 150 on FF are you comparing with? And isn't 150 mm EFL a lot closer to 135 than to 75?

Else, wider the better.

See above.

The totale amount of blur is hardly relevant here.

Why isn't it relevant?

It's just the way it is.

Interesting comment coming from a guy who I thought was shooting FF mainly for the blur.
