AA filter a big deal? K-S1 vs K-50

I'm (fairly) heavily invested into Pentax and my trusty and out of warranty K-r is starting to have some problems, so I'm looking to upgrade to a newer model.  The K-50 deals have really been tantalizing, mostly for the change to inexpensively upgrade my kit lenses to WR ones.  That said, my K-r never had an issue with the elements (short of just getting filthy), so it's not a deal breaker by any means.  What would be would be the chance to get better pictures.  How big of a deal to you guys is the lack of an AA filter on the K-S1?  I like the idea of having the ability to turn it off and simulate it only if necessary.  Do any of you have any practical experience/empirical evidence on this subject?  FYI, I'm only not looking at the K-5 IIs/K-3 because I have a lot of batteries and a power adapter specifically for the K-r/K-30/K-50/K-S1 (and I can't afford them).
