I upgraded from the kit lens on t3i to 15-85mm. Much wider, a bit longer, faster, somewhat better quality, better build, better colors (in my opinion). Somewhat overpriced though but I've been very happy with this choice.
I also upgraded to Tamron 70-300 mm for m. Tamron 70-300 and 15-85 worked very well together on my t3i. I also have 50mm 1.4 which I don't use all that much.
I looked into getting 6D but it is not any faster than t3i and it does not have a pop-up flash which is a problem for me. I am sure 6D is a good camera but I wanted something faster so I got 7d mark2. Super fast/great AF and better low-light capabilities than t3i. Pricey though.
Yes this has been my debate, I am drooling over the 7dmii or 6d. Part of me wants to go ff for my landscapes, low light and actually I had my mind set on the 6d especially with the canon rebates right now! But then I started looking into the 7dmii. I would still be in 'crop', but I have seen the capabilities of what the 7dmii can do and it takes awesome photos! Then of course I started second guessing myself and thinking I should just spend money on glass and not a new body. Decisions decisions!
