DP1m and DP3m color (errr...Cast ? Blotches ? Spots ?) woes on sand and other uniform surfaces

Hello All (again)
I have been having a blast with my DPms' since I put the finger between the Sigma cogwheels at the beginning of the month. I am still discovering them which is part of the whole endless fun. These thingies are a some blessed pieces of equipment: they manage at the same time to heal all my "...Sharp, I said, SHARP !!! ..." impulses, while at the same time managing to reconcile me with my Olympus equipment the times when I have to deal with file saving times and whatnot.
Anyway - I love them, me happy
I have noticed though a strange (if not at all annoying) phenomenon when shooting (color) difficult surfaces such as the sand on those beaches of ours here on the East coast. It so happened that every time I have been at the beach weather was really heavy (works for me, I love it), and the sand was of that cold lead-ish color.
Lo and behold, once in my peeping mode, I can not help but notice a consistent how would I call it - cast ? Hue ? in over the sand. It is like there is an alternating purplish-pinkish-greenish veil over it.
Examples included, please look at 100%.

This is lake Erie a few days ago, but the very same happened with my first DP1m (exchanged due to a spot on the sensor) in Long Island a few weeks back:

It is the easiest to spot where around ripples, where the sand changes color.
So, the questions:
- Is this there, or is it me getting nuts, older or both ? Can it be a screen issue (27" Asus lcd), can it be a matter of exposure (they all tend to be underexposed a bit) ?
- If it is indeed real - is this specific to the Foveon sensor ? A problem separating the different colors where they shift ?
- What is it called ?
- Is there a way to get around it in PP that won't imply being a Photoshop guru ?
Misunderstand me not, I am not uncomfortable with it, nor is it a deal-breaker to me. I'm just naturally curious.
Thanks in advance
