I don't think of it as retreating. I think of it as recognizing reality - they are in a niche. And at this point the market is too mature, the competition too numerous, and the stakes are too high to break out of that niche. And as I said earlier, it's probably best for them to address the high end of that niche, even if due to market forces it may not be sustainable. Doing nothing and ending up in the middle, or actively pursuing the bottom end is, in my opinion, even worse.
