600d, can i go past a 4gb movie clip?
Dec 27, 2014
I've done some searching and it looks like the 600d expects the sd card to be in fat32 format and so will not write a file past 4gb, even though exFat supports larger file sizes.
Is my only option to try installing magic lantern? I've very hesitant to do this since the ONLY thing i'm trying to do is go past the file size limit and installing a whole new firmware (which could potentially brick my camera) seems like overkill. plus my understanding is that even with magic lantern, i wont be able to go past 4gb. It will just automatically start a new recording when it reaches the limit.
So is magic lantern the only fix for the 600d just stopping a video recording at 4gb?
