Will this new lens work on my old 300D? Will the IS part of it it work as well? May upgrade the camera at some point but want to see if I will make use of the 300D enough to warrant buying a newer model. I assume the lens that came with the 300D will work on the newest version of that camera as well as the lens above?

Thanks

The 24-105 STM does not appear to be a particularly good lens. I'd recommend against it, especially at the $599 price. The 18-55 STM may be your best bet.

d'oh!  I thought it said 24-105 STM, but it was really 55-250 STM.

The 55-250 STM is a very highly thought of lens.  The old 18-55 will work on new cameras, but recent lenses have better image quality.  The new 55-250 would be a great pick.
