I'm looking for a good Canon digicam to carry around everyday.
The choice depends pretty much on what`s more important to you - as always
Having in mind the bold part of your quote, S120 is the smallest one of the bunch, and it`s the one you`ll be able to carry around everyday, indeed, without being (too) aware that you have a camera with you.
So, if size is your main concern, then S120. Also, if you still prefer a smaller camera for less money, it`s S120 again.
On the other hand, S120 has the slowest lens, so you would sacrifice some image quality in low light situations.
If money is not a problem, and you don`t mind some increase in camera depth/weight while you would still opt for a smaller package, then G7 X is the ultimate winner. And even though it doesn`t have the biggest sensor, it has the most advanced one (probably the same as Sony RX-100 M3), almost up to par with larger G1X M2.
Personally, I would go for G7 X, but that is because of my preferences (and the fact that I already own S120 which I`m greatly satisfied with, but wouldn`t mind the increase in sensor size/quality that G7 X brings ).
Now, if you don`t mind the camera size (meaning that you will probably need a separate bag for it, or maybe some really large jacket pockets), and you would like to save some money, than G16 would be an option. It has the same sensor as S120, yet larger/brighter (faster) lens, allowing for better low light quality shots than S120.
If neither camera size nor money is the issue, than you may go for G1X M2, as it should provide the best image quality out of all four cameras, and some may argue the best shooting experience, yet it`s rather subjective.
Good luck, and I hope you`ll enjoy your new camera
