External Flash for 1200D

Hi All,

I've bought a brand new Canon 1200D.

I used to have an old SLR with an external Flash (Kalimar 175A). I know it's old and it has no TTL neither new technology in (it has at least 12 years old but it's in perfect conditions)

I have read in some other theads that the voltage it could return in the hot spot for the flash could affect the Cammera. and wanted to know if anyone know this one could be used on a 1200D model or if it would harm the camera at some point. the reach of it (over 20 mts) gives a huge distance and would be a great complement to camera.

If anyone could provide any information if it could be used on this model (read about the 300D or something else) but not specifically for this.

Thanks in advance for any information / Clarification anyone could provide on this

Luciano
