My reason for purchasing the Fuji X-E1 system was for the size and weight when hauling the Nikon gear at times was getting too much. I curse a fair amount when shooting from the kayak with it. On land, not as bad but still nothing near the pleasure of the DSLR's.

In the film days I'd have to seek out particular point and shoot cameras that had a much quicker response time in order to capture expressions. Some were hideous. It is unfortunate to hear that the X-T1 has not improved enough to fulfill this requirement. It seems going for one of the smaller DSLR's is still the only way to go if you don't want to choose any smaller types sensor wise.

Every time that I called Fuji USA with a comment or concern they always advised me to write it on Fuji's Japanese site for the headquarters to get it first after which they would say they sent the comment onto the USA department. If you haven't yet I would suggest that might get more attention.
