Carrying the 40-150 f2.8 and last nights photos (flickr link)

I attended the annual banquet for my son's travel baseball league last night and spent the evening with the new 40-150 shooting under less than ideal (that's an understatement) conditions in a high school gym. I shoot raw (and process in LR 5.7) and usually don't spend any time with things like WB while I shoot but I really couldn't take it and so after a few shots set the WB in my EM-5 to "Fluorescent" which helped a bit. I still had to spend time in pp with the temp, tint, exp and clarity to get these pictures to where I could stand to look at them. One thing I didn't have to do is adjust sharpness. (YAY!!!) Also many of these pictures have been cropped (but not all) - the last one of the boy with his face turned towards me in the crowd is cropped almost 70% - and so I have to say the resolution is very good considering that the lighting sucked! I would never have been able to use that shot with my old 40-150 f4-5.6.
Almost all the shots were taken with the aperture wide open
Here is the link with the shots:

A few things:
removed the tripod thingy - it added extra weight and I don't own a tripod.
Very quickly I adjusted to the extra weight and size. I have a trick of pulling my elbows in and sort of resting them on my chest (sometimes it is an advantage to have one) to help stabilize and support the camera. spent over two hours on my feet shooting with no trouble.
Yes, the light wasn't good and I did experience the auto focus hunt but by using S-AF/MF assist to make sure I had the person in focus I wanted and then pressing the L-fn button on the lens to lock the AF I could get the shot I wanted. Turned face recognition off because I only wanted specific kids.
biggest adjustment for me was feeling more conspicuous with the larger lens. The boys were more aware of me than usual (especially my son who kept giving me "the look") though I have been the team photographer for three years so they are used to it. Definitely not stealthy though - if that is important to you.
Last thing - I'm used to being able to carry my entire kit in my Thinktank Speed Demon. I'm going to need to find an extra bag to either keep extra lenses or a holster for the camera when I have the 40-150 f2.8 on it. Here is how I carried it last night:
First pic - lower level of back has extra battery grip and 75-300 lens (which I never used)

second pic is with the separators down:

third pic is with the EM-5 and the 40-150 f2.8 attached at the top of the bag, ready to go!

It actually fits perfectly - but I might rather find a holster or get one of the new ThinkTank sling bags for the camera with this lens on it and then keep all the rest of my kit in the speed demon. When I shoot at baseball games I usually will just use the two telephotos but occasionally I need the 12mm for group shots of the team. I'll be curious to read about what others do in the way of bags for their new lens when attached to the camera body.
