I purchased the original Nikon 18-300 lens two years ago. The lens produced very good results with my Fuji X-5. In fact for a while it was among my favorite lenses. There are those who will denigrate all-in-one lenses without evey using them. I had no complaints about the Nikon 18-300, although it is a bit heavy.
I recently placed it on Ebay only because I have transitioned to the Fuji X cameras. My suggestion is that you check reviews from the actual uses of the lens at B&H, Adorama, etc. For your intended purposes you are not likely to be disappointed.
The Fuji X-5 is a wonderful camera.
Thanks for reminding me to check the reviews at B&H and Adorama. For both the Tamon and Sigma ones mentioned, it seems there are quite a few negative comments, mostly complaining about not sharp and focusing issues. In comparison, the Nikon one has only very few negative feedbacks. May be it is too new (2014)?
Btw, do you mean Fuji X-5 the Fujifilm S5 Pro?
Sorry. I did mean the S5, which served me quite well for over 5 years.

We're Noct messing around with this review.
Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom impress in a lot of ways, but their noise reduction lags the competition and their lens corrections lack a real-world basis. DxO PureRAW 3 aims to come to their rescue without totally reinventing your workflow!
The Sony ZV-E1 is the company's latest vlogging-focused camera: a full-frame mirrorless camera based the FX3/a7S III sensor, aimed at YouTubers and 'creators' looking to go pro.
