Re: What lens to get with a new Canon EOS 700D?

This time I wanted to thank you for your list of lenses. For someone like me that has more experience with these DSLR cameras, it's nice to know what additional lenses we might want to consider in the future.

I checked out the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 and Sigma 50-150 F2.8 on the SLRGear website. I didn't read all the reviews about them but looked at the blur index. All I have to say is "wow". They are good ones alright. B&H priced them both at $799 and $989 USD respectively if I'm not mistaken.  But that might not have been a Canon mount.

The thing that I was trying to stress, is that beginners first should start learning to use the camera and if done correctly with the kit lenses, they should be able to produce good images. They are relatively lightweight and very affordable. Then look at other lenses. But that's up to the OP (original poster). I think we also lost the OP, so we don't know what he or she wants either after our discussion...or what he or she has anyway...so we don't have to argue any more.

I've used a variety of lenses from two different brands and since I had not been able to afford a lot of expensive ones (like the ones you listed), I've had to learn the sweet spots. But the two lenses above that you mentioned, look like they have "big sweet spots". Again, thanks for the information.
