Colors ; X100 vs. Classic Chrome ?

I think the OP's point is that he (and other people) consider the X100 JPEG output to be superior to any subsequent Fuji X cameras. I tend to agree, having owned an X-E1, X-E2, and finally, an X100. If you shoot RAW, this is all pretty much irrelevant.

For me, it's the X100 Astia profile that I really like. It has nice warm, but not over-saturated, skin tones and vibrant greens and blues which overall gives a look that I find very pleasing for many purposes. I haven't been able to get the same results from any of the newer Fuji film simulations, and they really are quite different on the newer X cameras.

I would be curious to see if anyone owns an X100 and a newer camera with the Chrome simulation to see how the JPEG output compares. Is the Chrome simulation kind of gimmicky? How does it handle skin tones?
