XT-1

Ok, I have GAS, I admit it. At the same time, traveling on my motorcycle and trying to pack a gripped D800 with a couple of lenses, one of which being the awesome 14-24 with the limited space available can get a bit old sometimes.

So... I have pretty much decided a nice XT-1 has to be in my short term future. The grey one. Question is though, which lens to take. Since this, besides the GAS of course, is somewhat driven by the desire to having to pack less and smaller to its easier to bring along on my motorcycle, I am thinking either the 18-55 or the 18-135. The latter is obviously more flexible, but I'm always a bit wary of superzooms and coming from a D800 I'm already doing some concessions on quality.

What is the collective's opinion on these two lenses? How do they compare? Should I definitely pick one over the other, or is it pretty much a toss up?
