Minolta 58mm MC ROKKER lens to Canon T5i

Im looking for some expertise on using a Minolta 58mm MC Rokker lens on my canon T5i. I know I can buy an adapter for the nens but im concerned the f-stop funtion will not work properly since the minolta camera seems to use a little catch on the camera to adjust thr f-stop. Will the f-stops still workon the T5i or will they only work on the old Minolta camera body? Aditionally, if I did buy an adapter to use this lens would I need one with or without a lens built into the adapter for the T5i?

Thanks for any advise or help.
