Re: Updated Test - X-Pro 1 - Close Examination of Fuji X-Series Lag Time

I'm pretty convinced that the lag is due to metering, so you need to set everything to manual to try & eliminate this.

Focus set to manual

ISO set to whatever suits your exposure (Not auto)

Shutter speed set manually

Aperture set manually

Exposure compensation set to 0

This should mean that the camera does not need to meter the scene & is just doing as it's told.

Can you repeat the test with these settings for comparisons sake ?

Hi there Bob,

Yes, I have tried all these things set to manual. I likely should have said that prior to positing the test you see leading this thread, I did about a week of pre-testing, going through meticulously changing every setting within the camera. The only thing I had to leave set was MF, but I can go auto everything manual everything, aperture priority, shutter priority, I have switched NR, performance mode, lens modulation, WB, ISO, on and off; EVF/back panel off, focus peaking on/off, fresh battery, discharged battery, histogram on/off, all display settings on/off, focus point change, lens cap on/off, etc, etc. I have tried everything to try and change the conditions, but so long as I am stopped-down to something other than wide-open, and in MF, I can induce the extra delay with just a short turn of the focus ring. It happens no matter what settings I have...

Cheers for your question...
