There is probably batch variation so there is always an element of luck in getting a good one. Stiff, too stiff, not stiff enough and that probably varies between users.

The Panasonic TZXX series with the on/off button next to the video record button is a classic bit of design absurdity with capturing the video often accompanied instead by the camera powering down and the camera video shuffling at the end as you grope for the right button. Video button placement never satisfies everyone wherever it is put as with any control layout.

Might have been be an idea for the OP to try another one rather than review the product defective in its entirety and for all users. These user product reviews are best taken as a single opinion on a single example of a camera without any real controls on operating standards or ability and probably not much experience of alternative models.
