IS in Canon lens with active adapter / active SpeedBooster

I am considering to get second hand Canon EF lens cheap and either buy an active EF to m43 adapter or the active SpeedBooster (MB_SPEF-m43-BM2, the S version). With these “active” parts between the EF lens and the GH4, I will be able to change the aperture, get EXIF-data and have the IS in the Canon lens be turned on. Unfortunatly no AF.

My question:

How effective is the Canon IS in these cases?

With the active adapter there is no glass in between the lens and the sensor and the focal length is unchanged. I expect that the IS on a m43 body with this set up will be similar in stops gained as for any Canon FF or APS-C body with the same lens. Is this true?

But is the Canon IS working well if I should choose the SpeedBoster where I would get the focal reduction introduced without the Canon lens to realize this change? I expect it might be similar if you use teleconverters to lenses with OIS.

Do anybody have experience of IS with adapted Canon lenses either on active adapter or on active focal reducer?

I am considering a Canon EF 70-300mm, F4-5.6 which with a SpeedBoster would become a 50-210mm, F2.8-4.
