Before I received my Olympus 40-150 f2.8 my normal kit was the E-M1, 12-40 f2.8, Panasonic 35-100 f2.8, Panasonic 25 f1.4 and Olympus 60 f2.8 macro.  The other lenses I own are the 9-18, 75-300, 12 f2.0, 17 f1.8, 25 f1.8, 45 f1.8 and 75 f1.8.  A lot of times I will add the 9-18 if I think I will need something wider or the 75-300 if I need something longer.   I found that the f1.8 prime lenses  being just 1-1/3 stops faster than the f2.8 zooms not enough of a difference to bother carrying  them.  Still there are times when I know I will be in low light I will carry the 1.8 primes.  I found that I like the image quality better from the 35-100 f2.8 better than the 75-300 so I used the 35-100 and crop instead of using the 75-300  unless I really need something in the 200-300 range.

I now own the Olympus 40-150 f2.8.  It is a fantastic lens.  Image quality seem to be at least equal to the Panasonic 35-100 f2.8.  Plus it focuses really close, which is very handy.  I am finding that I am really enjoying the extra focal length.  I believe my normal kit will be the 12-40 f2.8, 40-150 f2.8, 25 f1.4 and the 60 f2.8 macro.  With the upcoming 1.4x TC I will most likely never use the 75-300 again and will give it to my wife.

I am keeping the Panasonic 35-100 f2.8 for when compact size is needed and the extra reach is not needed.  The 35-100 f2.8 and the Olympus 40-150 f2.8 are very different lenses.
