You're mainly concerned about IQ and IS, but as a wildlife photographer, you may also wish to consider a significant difference in the "Framing Assist" function between the SX50 and SX60.

If you lose track of an animal while zoomed in, the "Framing Assist" function helps you find it again by temporarily zooming out to provide a wider field of view.

The SX50 "Framing Assist" function provides an UNDIMMED wider field of view in the EVF and the LCD monitor. Incredibly, the SX60 "Framing Assist" function provides a DIMMED wider field of view in the EVF and LCD monitor. This means that if the ambient light isn't all that strong, the SX60's dimmed wider field of view makes it much more difficult or even impossible to find an animal (or any other subject) again unless it contrasts sharply with the background.

Incidentally, I own both models and am happy with their performance for the kind of bird photography that I do. However, the SX60's "Framing Assist" function is essentially useless under the conditions mentioned above.

I'm so glad you mentioned this, thank you. I hadn't realized this point before in my research of comparisons of the SX50 vs SX60, and as photographing wildlife (for art reference) is my primary interest, this makes a difference! SX50 it is
