Are they totally in sync all the time? No, but not bad enough to make it unwatchable. Notice the cord strap around my left hand bounce in sync between the left and right images and you will see sync issues. About a half-frame off sometimes. Also note that the white balance between the cameras is slightly off--another consideration when trying to sync two independent cameras. This video is side-by-side. You might be able to see the 3D options if you don't have HTML5 selected on your computer. If you do, it will only let you see the side-by-side image, not interleaved or anaglyph.

Here is my rig. I cut aluminum tubing to mount the cameras on the front of the jet ski. The cameras are mounted on a stereo slide bar I got off of Amazon. The Nabi cameras are gopro-like with a waterproof case, detachable LCD and do HD video and stills. Each camera cost $50 during promotion that Woot had this summer. You can get them off of Amazon too. In the video, I shot some with the cameras turned forward and intercut that sequence into the video. Keeping everything in sync took some effort, but all in all, the result was good--and a heck of lot of fun.

Those are red floaties on the backs of the camera cases to recover them if they fall off.
