Turning a barge (with an NX3000)

I took a walk at the weekend to the Kennet and Avon Canal near Newbury.

I took a mix of stills and video and given the dull light of the day I was quite pleased with the output.

The stills were processed in LR5 from RAW.

I processed an 18 minute video from a number of capture sessions, all using the 18-200mm mounted on a tripod (although in one session I used the tripod as a monopod as I couldn't get it in the right place otherwise). I'm no video/film expert but I quite like the result of this editing session which was limited to removing some unwanted footage, applying a consistent fade transition and titles/credits. I used MS Live Movie Maker for this.

The uploaded output to youtube suffers from reduced quality in order to get it into a small enough size to upload and both the full resolution and reduced resolution versions produced by Movie Maker suffer from a small amount of judder (most noticible when the writing on the barge is passing by).

The default sound from the NX3000 seems to emphasize the higher pitched noises so birds can be heard clearly in the background but very little noise from the barge motor (some might think this a good thing - but it doesn't feel natural to me). Unfortunately there is no provision for an external mike with the NX3000 so I guess I would need to resolve this during video editing (if possible) or use a separate sound recorder.

If anyone else produces video from NX3000 or similar sensor I would appreciate advice on how best to produce output in a sensible format for youtube viewing.
