Thanks!

I prefer the NX300 camera myself, touch screen, better performance, and I find the grip better (bit bigger and easier for me to hold onto). NX3000 is not bad, and definitely a good value, but I find the controls a bit lacking, but like the slimmer look. I think the JPEG engine might be a little different, but don't shoot JPEG very often. I think this photo was out of camera JPEG I modified in Lightroom (B&W and color filter to adjust skin tones), but will double check when I get home.

I'm definitely content with more features of NX300M (that's why I got it!), but do wish I liked the JPEG engine more. My previous Nikon D5200 had very good OOC JPEGs with minor adjustment, which was great for family outings and random snaps when I didn't feel like post-processing. With my NX300M, I pretty much always post-process. The only thing it seems to get better than me is skin tones and white balance on things like white LEDs. This is an example of an effortless OOC JPEG from my previous Nikon from my trip with my grandmother, who was visiting at the time:

My grandmother liked it enough that I had it printed for her in 11x14" with no alteration other than cropping, and it came out great. I miss that kind of "mostly fine out of camera" option, which I don't feel with NX300M due to the smoothing and default tone curves.
