Great allrounder

I normally use dx and m4/3 and bought the g16 on a whim for a very good price. After a slow start, I have grown to love it. It's brilliant in daylight and good in low light, using its f1.8 to keep ISO in check, meaning clean images for a small sensor camera. The lens is fast, sharp and with a useful 5x zoom. Best of all, it fits in my jeans as a total solution for everyday use.

The build is superb and it's quick from whoa to go with a stunning burst mode. The LCD is excellent and the basic optical viewfinder is just that, usable at pinch. I thought a viewfinder would be a deal breaker, but not so much now.

The g16's image are sharp and contrasty, and good enough for professional use and a3 prints.

Pros: great images straight from camera, superb fast lens, burst mode, focus accuracy, size.

Cons: nothing is perfect and the exposure dial is easily nudged. The shutter is a hair trigger, and the wifi is a bit basic. Would have nice to have remote control from a phone.
