As for the Olys with 0-sec shock still getting it - I find this hard to believe IF it really is electronic first curtain .. I can`t see how it can happen unless Oly`s EFC really is a bodge and not true EFC at all ...

It's very well possible. The Oly EFCS is no real EFCS like in the GM1, the shutter is still moving twice, albeit with an additional delay after first curtain to give the system some time to reduce blur caused by shutter impact.

If this time (depending on the flash sync speed) is too short for some lenses/focal lengths it might very well still come to something like shutter shock.

Another possibilty is the restriction to the flash sync speed (1/320s on the E-M1, 1/250s on the E-M10). If you get beyond that point, AS-0 is useless as it's no longer active and the full SS comes back. It's not even sure that AS-0 is effective the same amount over the whole shutter speed range, my guess is that there is a low peak on both ends.

I had this lense myself and could see clear evidence of SS up to 1/640s on both a G6 and a GX7, easily visible when comparing sharpness to e-shutter shots.

So the only 100% option to avoid blurred shots with that specific (or even others) lenses is to use e-shutter or a GM1/5.
