I've just bought a canon EOS 700D (+ EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM) for shooting video in low light situations (eg bars, night clubs). These vids will be shown full screen on a website.

It's gonna be a challenge!  Instead of going into great detail myself, here is a pretty good summation...

As others have mentioned, see what focal length would work for you (try a fast prime).  Focus will be very challenging on the fly though, but a wider angle lens will help (more DOF).  Be sure to check how much focusing noise a particular lens has.  For instance the aforementioned 40 STM is pretty loud (I don't use it for video).

I usually shoot video with the 18-135 STM (at the wider end).  But I'll often put on my Sigma 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye for fun.  AF is very quiet, autofocus (on my 70D) is excellent, and the DOF is still pretty deep even wide open.  You have to like the effect though!

Good luck to you!
