Re: NX300 Battery Drain when off?

I know that this is an old thread but I have just been called by Samsung Customer care about battery drain when the battery is left in the camera without using it.  I contacted them because if I leave the camera for about 3 weeks, the battery will be drained within 5 photos.

He told me that it is quite normal for the batteries to self discharge in the camera  in 2 weeks if not used.  When I asked him if there is something working inside the camera to discharge the battery he said that it was beyond his technical ability to answer that.  I also asked if it would be better to remove the battery from the camera when not being used, he said "I could give it a try".

This is a very unsatisfactory state of affairs, "2 weeks" to discharge the battery in the camera? I use original and after market batteries and they all do this.  And as for the "technical competence" of the Support staff words fail me.
