E-M1 continuous AF: Help?

Hey, friends. I know this topic has been covered, but I haven't found a way to get the CAF performance that others claim to get with their OM-D E-M1. I'm all in on m43, having pared down from two systems (I recently dumped my Nikon APS-C body and collection of quality lenses). I love Olympus m43 gear and the results I'm getting. I love never having to worry about front or back focusing. I love the mechanical and image quality that I'm getting from my glass (including the 17 1.8, 12-40 2.8, 45 1.8 and 75 1.8). I've preordered the 40-150 f2.8. Life is good.

EXCEPT: when I'm shooting CAF. I've been trying hard with the 12-40, getting my kids running toward the camera and jumping in a pile of leaves. I'm shooting reasonably wide, around 18mm. I'm not using tracking. I'm using the smallest focus point, and I'm keeping the point on my subject. I've turned rec view off. And the results suck: maybe a 20% hit rate. Some of you claim to be doing better. Please advise.

I'm open to various possibilities:

1. I'm doing something wrong

2. The GH4 is a better performer in this area (but I love my non-stabilized Oly glass)

3. I'll never get good CAF results with m43. If this proves true, I'm open to the possibility of returning the ($1,500) 40-150 when it arrives and getting a D7100 and 70-300mm lens for my kids soccer games, gymnastics meets, and basketball games.

Help?
