Hi Andy

If you look above the foxe's head, all the way to the top of your image, you can see the grassy weeds are in focus and the fence is not in the way. The boat shot looks good.

Try experimenting with Custom Colors neutral setting or create your own Custom Color setting. Cut back on saturation, contrast and sharpness to suit your taste and the environment you are in. I don't have details on this yet but maybe later on. Hopefully I can get some free time and sunshine together.

So far it is looking like the SX60 might not be a real easy to use "point and shoot" as are most DSLRs too. We need to be in control of it at all times and aware of the existing light. The glass it self is sharp on the long end but, we need to see what else is causing intermittent blurry shots. So far suspects are focusing or camera steadiness (IS). The SX60 also seems to want exposure dead on.

Have fun, go slow, and experiment your settings.

I will Ken I have a neutral filter on there and i got a darker one. Which I have not used yet it says cpl on it 67mm. Its all great fun playing with it, if it still took film I would be in me thousands of pounds worth by now haha.

Don't confuse "Custom Color" Neutral setting with an add on filter.  This setting is under the set button menus. Good Luck

Ken
