C&C — Fall Inverted: Rhode Island USA
Nov 3, 2014

I’m a first time poster here, and a relatively new owner of an NX1000 (earlier this summer), and last month a NX3000. I bought the NX3000 because it was the most cost-effective way to get the 16-50mm PZ lens, and I also like being able to carry around two bodies, using the NX1000 mostly with my old Olympus and Minolta manual SLR lenses.
I’ve admired the photography of many of the contributors to this forum, and thought I would contribute a few with the added hope of getting some constructive criticism. Below is an image I took today in Rhode Island, USA, of the surface of a gently flowing stream containing anchored masses of moss that are stretched out in the flow. On top of the rippled water is the reflected and distorted image of the trees and sky above. A full sized original and a few other similar/related images (some shot with the NX3000/16-50mm PZ, and one from a few weeks ago, at peak Fall colors) are in the gallery link. I hope this photo and the links show properly; I don't see a preview button.

The 5 photos in the gallery were shot in camera as JPEG, and have been minimally processed in PS (incremental tweaks to tone and contrast) — LR and shooting RAW will have to wait until I have more time. The photo shown above was shot on the NX1000 using an early 1970’s Minolta MC Rokkor 55mm 1.9 lens set at f5.6; since it is a manual lens mounted on an adapter, no focal length or aperture info will shows in the EXIF data.
I’ve been very impressed with the 16-50mm PZ lens so far, but also enjoy using my older manual lenses. The only thing I find frustrating with them is achieving a good focus without the help of a microprism. I may spring for something like one of those attachable magnifiers at some point.
