DP1M continuous numbering creates 105SIGMA folder

At some point in the past I switched an SD card and then upon putting the original back (with continuous numbering in effect) it created a new 105SIGMA folder numbering from 0001 (instead of placing the new picture in the original 100SIGMA folder, incrementing to the next number)

Note that I had the latest firmware since 6/15/2013.

Today I backed up and deleted all the files on the SD card, deleted the 105SIGMA folder and copied the latest picture files that I named DP1M3501.X3F and DP1M3501.JPG in the original 100SIGMA folder also now changing the prefix from SDIM to DP1M.

Then I took a picture and it created a 105SIGMA folder with DP1M0391.X3F & DP1M0391.JPG (that is the sequence number that I had in that spurious folder).

So it seems to me that the camera stores the internal value & folder name of the last picture taken, regardless of what is on the SD Card.

Before attempting an Auto Reset (hoping it would reset the folder name and read 100SIGMA and then after I change back to continuous it would pick up the highest sequence in the folder), I imagine someone might have come across this situation and would have a safe approach.

Thanks,

Chris
