We had a little shootout yesterday. My friend got a Sony RX100 III and we shooted same scenes with my GH4/14-140mm II.

I can't speak for the RX100M3, but my RX100M2 is soft compared to my GH3. It's even more so when you use the "active steady shot" stabilization, which actually crops the sensor a bit and then scales, translates and rotates the image to counter camera movements.

Thanks for that "active" tip. I asked today my friend about settings and his RX100 v3 was actually in active mode. It is some kind of real time post stab and it gives very good floating stabilization but reduces resolution.

I tested today the Pana 14-42 v2 with my GH4 and there was absolutely zero jitter at 14mm other than natural hand movements.
