removing the IR filter on a new 1200d
Oct 30, 2014
Hi there everyone.
im new here and a photography enthusiast ..... i have a T4i Canon, and i LOOOOVE it,
i've been watching some infrared stuff on the web and i bought an IR filter... but i the shutter speed needs to be too long to get a decent IR photo.
and now i found an alternative, that is to remove the IR cut filter form the inside of the cam.
looked for used Cams, but around here there are no cheap used ones, so i am planning to buy a new 1200D that is the cheapest one i found in my country.
i saw some tutorials on how to remove the filter from a 450d and a 650d..... and 1100d.
i wanna know if removing the IR filter would really work?
reducing the shutter time and get an instant ir pic??
i also heard it needs to be replaced by another glass?? but havent seen it in the tutorials.
and what would happen if i only removed the filter without replacing it??
Thanks..... awaiting help!
