Some did have it again after the repair, but it seems if they have to replace your shutter 3 times they give you a D610 as a replacement. Not a bad deal especially if you're not using the D600 for tons of critical work.

I have two Nikon FF bodies including the D600 and mine hasn't had the splatter return, but if it does I'll just send it back. It's not my workhorse camera though so it didn't kill me to not have it for 5 days. I am thinking I may sell mine to upgrade to the D810 though before prices get too low on it.
